I managed to get out and do some initial field testing (6 flights) with the RC Timer 6x3x3 carbon prop and the Gear Best 2212/5T 2700 Kv motor in one of my Mig-35Bs.
With the 6x3 EMP prop, I have seen the normal improved acceleration and pop on initial punch of the throttle, with a little less top end speed than the 6x4 APC, motor runs a bit cooler, draws a little less power.
From what I see so far with the 6x3x3 prop, there is a little less top end speed than with the 6x4 APC, a little less initial "pop" when I hammer the throttle, but it is still very fast and acceleration is very linear, I suspect due to the prop being so stiff.
It is certainly much quieter than both the 6x3 EMP and 6x4 APC, more of a high pitched whine like an EDF, but overall quieter.
Based on the temperature of the motor, ESC and battery after landing, it is drawing less amps than the 6x4 APC, maybe about the same as the 6x3 EMP, based on how much "gas" was left in the battery after landing, it is running about 5% more efficiently for the same flight duration than it did with the 6x4 APC prop.
I will continue to use this prop with this motor for the foreseeable future, it will probably be my "go to" prop for warm weather when summer comes around again just to reduce the heat build up of this 2212/5T 2700 motor if nothing else. Very happy with how it is working out thus far, always nice to have another quieter, efficient prop option for this motor.
I will continue testing for the next several weeks for durability. I am a bit concerned that given it is a carbon prop that it could be more susceptible to chipping when the prop touches the ground on landing, so before adding it to our recommended parts list, I will give it some more testing.
