I just completed a bit of a revamp to the NAMC recommended parts list to add a new product and to also update some other info.
The new product added is the RC Timer 6x3x3 carbon prop that I have tested on all the motor categories on our parts list with some pretty favorable results. I have written several articles about bench and field testing results in our Props thread, or you can go directly to this article for a summary of my findings.
The 2212/6 2700 Kv motors seem to be harder and harder to find online, I found one from Fasttech that seems to have all the right specs, so I have ordered one of those to try. It costs $11.12 USD, shipping is free which means very slow :/, I hope to have it before Christmas to start testing. I had also found another from a vendor called HiModel, but it appeared they wanted $5.08 USD to ship a $9.15 USD motor to me :/ Additionally, it says when you sign up you get a "member's price". Well, I signed up and there was no difference in the price, so my "spidey senses" tells me this might not be a good vendor to deal with. If anyone has experience dealing with them, I would be interested to hear the results.
I have been exhaustively searching the internet and it appears that as the 2212/6 2700 Kv motors are becoming harder to find, the market is flooded with the 2212/5T 2700 motor like our "medium" motor on the parts list. As I have found in testing, these are not similar motors despite what I have read others claim. The 2212/6 2700 motor with the right prop is 10-15% more powerful than the 2212/5T 2700 with any prop.
So my "spidey senses" tell me that if you like the 2212/6 2700 Kv motors and have found a good source for them, buy up a couple extra before the stock runs out and please share with me at firstname.lastname@example.org :)
